Not to be used for diagnosis or screening of diabetes or for neonatal use. Testing must be done w/in operating temp range (6-44°C). The meter & test strips should be about the same temp before testing. Do not test if there is condensation on the meter. Use the test strip immediately after removing it from the vial. Not indicated for alternate site testing. Use only fingertips when testing w/ the system. Should not be used for patients w/in 24 hr of receiving D-xylose absorption test. Do not use the system when pralidoxime is known or suspected to be in the patient's whole blood sample. False low blood glucose results in case of severe dehydration. Very high (>60%) or very low (<20%) hematocrit can cause false results. Do not use on critically ill patients, patients in shock, severely dehydrated patients or hyperosmolar patients (w/ or w/o ketosis). Do not use serum or plasma in testing. Abnormally high conc of uric acid & other reducing substances in blood may cause inaccurately low results. Clean meter, lancing device & cap at least once per wk, when they are visibly dirty & before disinfection. Disinfect meter, lancing device & cap periodically.
